Ski & Ski Boots Frequently Asked Questions

What condition are the skis in?

For specifics on each item please see the description in the auction.  All skis come cleaned, freshly sharpened, and newly waxed.   The bindings have been inspected to ensure there are no obvious broken parts.  The skis are sold "as-is" but have passed our inspection and are in usable condition at a minimum.  Ski waxing does not fill in grooves/gouges, it applies a thin layer of wax evenly over the surface.  Scratches and chips may be present on the top of the ski and the bindings, please see the specific item description for details.

You MUST have your bindings adjusted by a qualified ski technician before any use.  They will be able to provide you with the proper setting for your boots and for you ability level.  Failure to do so may result in serious injury. Binding adjustment only costs about $15 at your local ski shop, some even do it for free.

Ski Sizing:

We sell all sizes of skis that are typically available (80cm to 210cm).  You can use the chart below to help determine what size ski would work best for you.  Advanced skiers often choose skis based on preference, not necessarily the charts.  Consult your local ski shop if you feel you need more specific sizing information.

Boot Sizing:

We also sell a wide variety of boots in all typically available sizes.  You can use the chart below to help determine what size boot would work best for you.  It is a good idea to have a boot that fits well as it will help to prevent injury and allow for a more comfortable day on the slopes.  Usually boots fit with their corresponding shoe sizes.  Boots cannot be made bigger, but they can be tightened, so ordering a half  or whole size bigger than you typically wear may be a good idea if you have had sizing issues with ski boots in the past.  Consult your local ski shop if you feel you need more specific sizing information.  For Women who would like to convert their size to Men's, click here.

*The Mondo Size above and the conversion to Men's/Women's sizing may not correspond to the Mondo Size and Men's/Women's Size listed on the boot.  As a standard, we convert the Mondo size we find on the boot into Men's sizing using this chart..

Women's shoes are narrower than men's.  Also, the heel on a woman's shoe is narrower than the forefoot width. Men's shoes have the same width at the forefoot and heel. Women can wear men's shoes by converting their size to men's by subtracting 1.5 from their numeric size.  This is a loose conversion and doesn't change the difference in width and forefoot-to-heel ratios.  Boots listed for auction are described as Men's or Women's (and the size listed) based on what the boot is labeled as.
